5 BOYS HEADED TO STATE CHAMPIONSHIPS
Vestal High School - Binghampton Area (June 11-12, 2010)
Sophomore Jeremy Rushok earned the Section 6 Championship in the 1600 meter run at the state qualifier meet at Hamburg High School (June 4-5, 2010) and will be competing in the state championships. He bettered his school record time of 4:35.35 with a new time of 4:32.81. Joining Jeremy at states are his teammates Ian Brown, Brad Borowczyk, Jason Donovan, and Josh Cory who finished second in a great race against Alden in the 4x100 relay. The relay team's run of 44.20 improved upon their earlier school record (45.01) and met the state standard mark to send an additional team. Both the Akron and Alden 4x100 relay will represent Section 6 at the state championships.
